Introduction
The predecessor of law firm Kocsis Ügyvédi Iroda (Kocsis Law Firm) was established by Dr. Tamás M. Kocsis (LL.M., Humboldt Universität zu Berlin) in 2005. Since Dr. Mónika Szénássy joined the firm in November 2011 we have been operating as a general partnership under the name Kocsis and Szénássy Law Firm.
Our attorneys provide legal advice in the areas of corporate law, real estate law, labour law, civil litigation and commercial law.
We are committed to corporate social responsibility both as a firm and as individuals and are happy to take on certain cases that, although not falling into any of the above categories, we consider to be of great social importance. Equally, we support non-profit organisations and charity schemes by providing them legal advice.

Dr. Tamás M. Kocsis, Managing Partner, has been practising as attorney since 2005. Educated at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) Faculty of Law, Budapest, he was awarded a degree in 2000. He then earned a Magister Legum (LL.M.) degree from Humboldt University, Berlin. Tamás is also qualified as a political scientist and has a diploma from Eötvös Loránd University. As an intern he gained an early insight into the work of the Hungarian Supreme Court (Legfelsőbb Bíróság, now Kúria) in Hungary and the European Commission in Brussels. Later as trainee lawyer and attorney Tamás worked at law firms with Hungarian ownership and in a major international law firm’s real estate team. Additionally, he was a European Union official at an EU agency for five years. Such wide-ranging domestic and international expertise gained in various positions enable him to adopt a comprehensive approach towards any legal issues that need addressing.

Dr. Mónika Szénássy has been a practising attorney since 1996. Educated at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) Faculty of Law, Budapest, she was awarded a degree with summa cum laude qualification in 1993. She spent her internship at Vienna-based law firm Weiss-Tessbach. After graduating she worked as a trainee lawyer and subsequently as attorney and partner at the Hungarian member firm of international tax consultancy and accountancy firm Ernst & Young, one of the Big Four, for over ten years. She joined our law firm in 2011. Mónika has over twenty years’ experience in legal consultancy concerning foreign investments in Hungary, covering all aspects, from corporate law and labour law to public administrative law and accounting matters. She further specializes in company acquisitions and transformations (including mergers and demergers), as well as cessations without a legal successor. Her wide-ranging expertise gained in this field allow for outstanding legal counsel in matters that are truly important for our clients.
